Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies

Evil has been summoned once again when the evil Djinn is awakened by a burglar named Morgana (Fields) during a botched art heist. When the Djinn takes blame for the crime, he's sent to prison where he grants wishes to prisoners in return for their souls, to ultimately structure an army to obliterate all humanity. It's up to Morgana to save the human race.
Evil has been summoned once again when, during a botched art heist, the Djinn is freed from his gem prism by a burglar named Morgana. Fearing for the fate of humanity, Morgana seeks the aid of her former lover, who is now a priest, to combat the Djinn.

I wish I never saw this!
This is the first entry of the WM series that I saw, back when I was a young teen. I loved it back then, and it remained my favorite one for a long time. Now, as an adult, I can see it's cheese factor pouring out all over the place. Still a good movie, but the first is far better.
Was definitely disappointing, watched it because Wes Craven is my favorite and he did the first Wishmaster, but this one pretty much sucked!
A very mediocre movie with weirdly pro-christian themes shoehorned in, but enjoyable enough to have on while I did some chores. I thought the first movie was pretty silly but decent, and this movie is in the same vein but just not as clever.
I liked the beginning, but the movie went downhill once the Djinn finds himself in prison. It never recovered after that.
