Refreshingly balanced; a fun gorey ride, lots of sick twists and turns, hilarious yet also dead-serious, some original ideas, a different cultural setting, with a strong female lead.

Tagline sums it up nicely: zombie apocalypse meets Road Warrior/Mad Max with a couple of interesting twists. Enough gore to satisfy most z-aficionados plus some genuinely funny moments. Could have done without the nod to Reservoir Dogs's Mr. Blonde dance and Bianca Bradey here reminded me too much of Kiera Knightley (not her fault), but otherwise, no complaints. Some might say Leon Burchill was playing to a negative racial stereotype, but his character was damn funny. Would love to see more of him. Wyrmwood, Housebound, and 100 Bloody Acres. All excellent horror comedies from Down Under now on Shudder (Dec 2018). Check them all out.
