A film where the violence is often shown off camera or at a distance, with the focus being on the aftermath, rather than the act. Phoenix nails the trauma of PTSD, stalking around with an intimidating physical bulk. I loved the music, and of course it's by Jonny Greenwood. Great movie.

That was a weird bit of cinema. Lots of atmosphere, though a kind of meandering story. Nevertheless, entirely watchable. Joaquin Phoenix is an amazing actor and the blonde teen girl did a mighty fine job too.

Slight subversion of a payback/revenge movie. Joaquin great as usual. If you're here for creeps getting punished, it technically happens but it's not really the focus of the film. More about how one processes trauma
