During a festive Yuletide party, a group of sorority sisters receive a creepy call from someone who claims he’s going to kill them all. The girls soon realize the threats were serious, when one by one, they each fall prey to the mysterious maniac. After directing two relatively ignored horror flicks which later became cult classics (CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS & DEATHDREAM), a Christmas miracle made Bob Clark’s 1974 classic a hit. A huge influence on John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN, BLACK CHRISTMAS is frequently credited with helping spawn the slasher subgenre.

A must watch for slasher fans! Legitimate creepy at points (the phone call scene), and highly influential.
Had put off watching this for a long time thinking it would be a another generic, by the numbers slasher, but boy was I wrong. With out a doubt this is one of the best films ever made in the slasher genre. A film that even with being over 50 years old still holds up as a genuinely unnerving and scary film A great example of how using smart camera techniques, a fantastic score and a reoccurring audio disturbance done right truly adds to the suspense. You'll have to watch it to find out.
