Hatchet for the Honeymoon
Directed by Mario Bava
A bridal shop owner is compelled to butcher young brides-to-be. John is a philandering rogue tethered to a bitter wife who refuses to divorce him. If she knew about his dark side, she might change her mind, but alas, she learns too late - and that’s when the story makes a sudden shift from giallo-style murder mystery to supernatural thriller. Mario Bava called this his most personal work, and though it’s not as purely scary as his other films, it still manages to offer some very visceral thrills, while paving the way for films like MANIAC and AMERICAN PSYCHO years later.

not very exciting
This isn't my favorite Bava movie, but it's well worth watching. It is particularly interesting to look at this and compare it to American Psycho. As always the lighting, mood, and sound are great. To me, the plot is a bit slow, although it picks up around the half-way mark.
Interesting. Loved the characters
I rarely go wrong with Bava and this is no exception. One of the more stylish and inventive gialli out there, with bettter than average dubbing.
Not bad... definitely worth a watch. 🌟🌟🌟 @TheRealRJSmith
