Night of the Living Dead

Night of the Living Dead

Directed by Tom Savini

In 1990, George Romero persuaded his friend and frequent collaborator, FX legend Tom Savini, to step into the director’s chair for this gory remake of 1968’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Romero wrote the script, keeping the original’s plot of a group of people trapped during a zombie outbreak, but updating other details. Patricia Tallman’s (“Babylon 5”) badass Barbara is nothing like Judith O’Dea’s hysterical original, while future CANDYMAN Tony Todd is brilliant as the heroic but frustrated Ben. But it’s Savini’s superb gore work that makes this one a must-watch.

FX legend Tom Savini directed this gory remake of the mother of all zombie flicks.

Cast: Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, William Butler, Tom Towles

An excellent tribute remake. There's nothing here to piss off all the lover's of the original 1968 classic, and that's really who this remake was made for. Good work by all involved. Go Steelers!
