At the same time, all the unwanted, unloved and so-called “unfit” dogs rise up under a new leader, Hagen, the one-time house-pet who has learned all too well from his “Masters” in his journey through the streets and animal control centers that man is not always dog’s best friend.

I haven't had this much anxiety watching a film in a long time. (slight spoilers) On the one hand, I really appreciate all the work that must've gone in to filming so many dogs. And the great acting of the few trained dogs themselves was worth nodding at. But on the other, the severe intensity of watching the dog's struggle and not having that great of a payout at the end really made this one hard to like. It left me feeling really sad. I don't regret watching it, but I feel like if i'd never seen it, that would've been okay. Don't understand why it was on Shudder... Other than a couple slight gore scenes, it was not really horror. Unless they mean Actually Horrific. I probably would not recommend this to anyone I know. Especially not a dog lover. Points for making me feel feelings, but I did not enjoy it one bit.

Dog mom of 3, my youngest was super into it. Loved the plot and geez how they can train so many dogs is beyond me. I was in a similar predicament and whilst I don’t wish my dog would copy Hagen, I would be ok if she scared her abusers into having ptsd. I said it.

Absolutely fantastic. Beautifully shot and acted, especially by the dogs. It's a wonderful rumination on oppression, revolution, solidarity, and hierarchy. It's quite slow, but builds up to a final moment which blew me away with its thematic resonance.
