Zombie
Directed by Lucio Fulci
After making his name in the giallo subgenre, Lucio Fulci breathed new life into his career with this ultra-gory 1979 masterpiece about a group of unfortunate Americans who foolishly set sail for a remote Caribbean island that's crawling with worm-filled zombies. Thanks to its extraordinarily gruesome FX and that still-unbelievable zombie vs. shark-scene, ZOMBIE sparked a zombie-gore trend in Italy, and landed itself a permanent spot on the list of the greatest zombie movies in the history of the subgenre. Essential viewing for all Shudder-ers!
Lucio Fulci’s ultra-gory masterpiece is a must-see classic of zombie cinema.
Cast: Tisa Farrow, Ian McCulloh, Richard Johnson, Olga Karlatos

Bill was the worst
I loved the scuzzy early-eighties look of this film, and the zombie-shark showdown was hilarious!
One of my all time favourite zombie movies.❤️
The movie definitely shows its age but personally I enjoy it. I’m not into zombie movies but this is a nice hidden gem. I love the eyeball scene (woman gets her eye basically impaled on a sharp piece of wood) and the zombie shark scene. I would love to see more zombie shark stuff in horror movies if it was similar to the scene in this movie.
The eye scene alone gets 3 stars. Saw this as a 6 yr old kid in 80, while my mom and step bro watched Urban Cowboy and Up in Smoke I snuck over to where this was playing and saw the scene where the conquistador comes up out of the grave and rips Olga Karlatos throat out. Came back crying but h#be loved this ever since
